We are dedicated to providing our community with professional law enforcement services through equitable enforcement of the law, continued professional development, and respect for the needs of our citizens. The members of the Helena Fire Department proudly continue the tradition as Guardians of the Gulch, by professionally providing a quality, effective, skillful, safe and caring service to protect our community whenever and wherever needed.
The Communication Center is the public safety answering point (PSAP) for all of Lewis and Clark County, including the cities of Helena and East Helena.
The center dispatches an average of 63,000 calls for service and receives about 94,000 emergency and non-emergency phone calls annually for police, fire, and emergency medical services.
Montana Disaster & Emergency Services is the lead agency coordinating comprehensive emergency management in Montana. In collaboration with local and tribal governments, we build, sustain, and improve our ability to prepare for, protect against, respond to, recover from, and mitigate hazards.
The mission of Lewis and Clark County Emergency Management is to protect lives, property, and the environment through preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation planning and activities.
The Emergency Management Coordinator manages the county Emergency Operations Center at the Helena Regional Airport during emergencies.
Tri-County Firesafe Working Group’s (TCFSWG) mission is to engage property owners on how to co-exist with and survive wildfire. Our programs and activities are designed to help property owners reduce their fire risks and to live more safely in a wildfire environment.
The Lewis & Clark County Sheriff's Office is the chief Law Enforcement agency in Lewis & Clark County, Montana. It is comprised of over 120 employees including sworn officers, detention officers, and professional support staff. The Sheriff's Office provides general law enforcement, detention functions, rural fire support, and search and rescue operations for the citizens of Lewis & Clark County in a service area of over two million acres.
The scenic Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest stretches 2.8 million acres through central and north-central Montana.

From floods to drought, fire or hurricanes, NRCS provides disaster recovery assistance to farmers, ranchers, landowners and communities through a variety of USDA programs.
The Helena Area Community Foundation (HACF) inspires people to make a difference by encouraging the spirit of giving to provide resources that benefit present and future generations in our communities.

The Tri-County COAD is an association of human services and faith-based organizations, government agencies, businesses, and individuals whose purpose is to advocate for and promote a coordinated, county-wide disaster preparedness planning initiative to integrate its members into the county's comprehensive emergency system. The Tri-County COAD serves Lewis & Clark, Jefferson, and Broadwater Counties.
Everyone is welcome at a Red Cross shelter and all disaster assistance is free. We provide aid all those in need, regardless of race, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, or citizenship status.
The Red Cross is also committed to helping people with a wide range of needs, including people with disabilities and mental illnesses, whether they are children or seniors.
